The Earl is a boutique hotel in Charlevoix, Michigan. Our stunning 56 guest rooms bring a modern twist and cosmopolitan vibe to Earl Young’s Weathervane Lodge. More than a hotel, The Earl offers a contemporary hotel and two different bar experiences just one block from Round Lake and minutes from Lake Michigan. Sit high above the city and enjoy breathtaking views of Round Lake and downtown Charlevoix at HI Bar. LO Bar, located in our lobby offers cozy indoor and outdoor seasonal seating. Both bars offer the best handcrafted cocktails, our signature Party Girl bubbly, an abundance of Michigan beers and small plate snacks.  All our guests are encouraged to start their day with our complimentary light continental breakfast. Specialty coffees are available all day for your sipping pleasure, gratis of course.

VIP Earl Suite

VIPs deserve our largest suite. This two-bedroom suite can sleep up to 8 people and entertain even more. When you book this suite, you get our Earl Suite and connecting King Water View room making a two-bedroom suite fit for a king or queen. Each bedroom has a king bed, private bathroom and balconies overlooking Round Lake and downtown Charlevoix. One of the bathrooms has a jetted tub to soak away your worries. The spacious living room has a gas fireplace, two queen-sized sofa sleepers, dining room table for 6, fully equipped kitchen, half bath and washer and dryer. Start your stay off right with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine waiting in your guestroom.

Earl Suite

Brides love the space this suite offers because it’s designed for socializing and has the largest balcony in the hotel, boasting views of downtown and Round Lake. The bedroom has one plush, king bed, a private bathroom with jetted tub, walk-in shower, dual sink, Beekman 1802 luxury bath amenities, lighted makeup mirror, and plush bath robes. The spacious living room, with two queen-sized sleeper sofas, gas fireplace and half bathroom. Enjoy the fully equipped kitchen with breakfast nook, dining table for 8 and a washer and dryer. Start your stay off right with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine waiting in your guestroom.

INCREDIBLE

We stayed here as we competed in the Lighthouse 100 ultramarathon - it was the perfect spot! It was along the course and helpful for our crew to be at the hotel. The staff was INCREDIBLE - the morning staff through the overnight served us with such kindness (and great espresso). We enjoyed the hot tub and pool after the race! The rooms are comfortably decorated and clean. As an architect, I enjoyed reading about Earl Young — what a fascinating remodel and preservation of the past while accommodating all the amenities we have now!

Highlight of our trip

This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip! The room was spotless and the mid-century modern decor was lovely. The bed was the most comfortable of the 4 hotels we stayed at on our Northern Michigan road trip. The shower was amazing. The staff were extremely friendly in both the lobby and the rooftop bar and were kind enough to upgrade our reservation to a balcony room. We will definitely return and recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Charlevoix.

This boutique hotel was great! Beautiful decorated! Room was great, comfy bed! Lobby was very nice and inviting and with a bar! Staff was outstanding!!!! Very helpful and pleasant! You don't need your car once you park for the downtown area which is a plus! We will defiantly stay again!!!
